Thanks for your suggestion. I am aware of the 'usual' causes of record out of range, such as in the examples you give. However, this situation seems to be a different animal. All I did was drop a grid on a form and try to save it. This happened at DESIGN time, upon save of the form itself. I started over with an new form, and didn't have the problem. I'm guessing that my scx got corrupt or something. For now I'm going to let it go, and assume it was some anomoly with the form itself.
