I still am unclear as to what you want to do. Is it to NOT connect to ANY Novell server when the workstation boots or to not connect to only one specific server when the workstation boots? Or do you just want your app to work off of local tables and not see tables stored on a server? The reason I ask is that this task (defining which server the workstation connects to) is usually left to network administrators because there may be other reasons WHY the workstation connects to a Novell server other than just one app. That needs to be verified first. Having a workstation connect to a Novell server should have NOTHING to do with your app. The app needs to point to the correct tables regardless of what servers are connected to the workstation. Please clarify your ulitmate intent here as to the server connections and the app and its table locations. It does not make sense to cancel a network connection over one app unless that is the only reason the workstation connects to a specific server. Perhaps the client herself is unclear or not expressing her requirements clearly?

I'm sorry I still cannot help unless I understand clearly.
