Thanks for your reply,

I'm not looking so much to know how to accomplish a copy of files. I am trying to find a way of determining programmitically the name of file(s) when wildcards are used for the destination name.

For example:
Say users are not allowed access to windows explorer or the DOS Command window because they want to restrict what files they can move or copy within directories they have network right too. And I was given the task of writing a program in which a user can enter the name and path of the source file(s) with or without wildcards and the destination they want to copy the specified file(s) to with or without wildcards. The program is to perform the copy, log the path and file name of each file being copied and what the name of the file wil be after it is copied at the destination.

See examples in prior message, the program would have to predict the name of file if a user specify a non-intuitive wildcard combination for the destination.

I am trying to discover the best way in accomplishing this. I hope this explanation is a little better.
