By "hot skill" I meant something for which there is a lot of market demand. There seems to be a lot of ongoing confusion between that and VFP's technical merits, which I agree are first rate. The VFP team has done an awesome job of improving the product over the years and providing support for new technologies which didn't even exist when dBASE was invented -- Windows, COM, OOP, the internet, etc. etc. etc. There is even partial support for .NET. My point is only that technical capabilities are not the be-all and end-all. There are market considerations as well.
