Hi Mike

We have made some progress. We found that by adding the "convert" function to our query, the sp executes without an error. This indicates corrupt data in my mind, although we have not been able to "eye-ball" the corrupt data in the source tables.

So now we have to ways of "fixing" the problem. (1) convert the data before writing to the table and (2) rewrite the query to remove the subquery.

If we have corrupt data, then using the convert function makes sense. I have no understanding of why rewriting the query works.
