>All this shows is how lawyers and the "file a writ!" mentality distorts the world. Those who buy into that distortion come to believe that twisted absurdity is right.

From Doug's cited article, this is the Judge talking about the pledge:

"It is a profession of a religious belief, namely, a belief in monotheism," wrote Judge Alfred Goodwin in the 2-1 opinion. "To recite the Pledge ... is to swear allegiance to the values for which the flag stands: unity, indivisibility, liberty, justice, and — since 1954 — monotheism."

How is the little girl even rellevant in the above FACT in any way? How is the above "Absurd" or "Distorted"?

How does the fact that the little girl's father's opinion (which, appropriatelly agrees with the judge's decision) is that children shouldn't be exposed to monotheism and ONLY monotheism in the pledge to our country make him a liar?

If you think you have valid answers to these questions, you are asburd, and horribly distorted.
