>I definitely don't want to disparage Visual FoxPro or its users. I do suggest that they take the same Visual Studio opportunity that the VB, VC++ people have been offered and master the new tools that are being offered them. These are all great products. They all have flaws.
As for me and many other developers, we bought Visual Studio and use most of its tools since its release. One of the reason is the cost of VS is so small than the need to buy only one package is almost gone.
As for me, I now use VB to build ActiveX as I am concentring on VFP as the requests I have is to build full OOP and big database engines. I would have to consider the development environment if I would have to develop other kind of application. I also used Visual C++ to build a plugin. I will also have to learn about Microsoft Internet tools as I believe by year 2000, we will have to use their tools as they will probably control most of that environment as they succeeded with their Windows OS. For now, I use 3rd party products for most of my Internet development as Microsoft tools are not ready or not powerful enough at this point, but I think we can all say that this is only temporary until we see a new area Microsoft will start to dominate soon.
