Venelina,

Calling the programmers in these other countries lazy is pretty wrong. I for one will be vacationing to the Grand Canyon with my daughter during the timeframe. A vacation to specifically get away from the computer that I spend far too much time coding.

I'd also add (late Sunday night) that having 3 parts to the tournament probably limits ability to participate. The people who write good articles are not necessarily the people who can get a good desktop app together within the timeframe and desktop app folks are not the ones that can get a good VFP driven website up in the timeframe.

Also what's the purpose of the two apps? Are these something that someone outside the teams is going to stand to make some financial gain from the effort? There used to be a programming contest that was held in North Carolina each year (it might still be going on I don't know for sure) but that contest had a charitable organization that was the recipient of the contest code, so contest aside, the effort did some good. There is no such stipulation from what I see in the UT contest. Also the NC contest any programming language could be used, so it attracted a much wider variety of teams.

I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade about the UT contest, it just something that I didn't really give a second thought about until you called us American programmers lazy. *bg*

>is this message mean that in USA, UK, Germany, Australia, India, China, .... there are not programmers ready to prove in tournament their knowledge. Or may be the programmers from this countries are very lazy.
>I would like to ask you to give them one more chance in next 3-5 days and send personal invitations to some of UT members from this regions. May be they will take responsibility to make a team.
