Check out wether this is appropriate to you:

Another possibility is to have a procedure that "creates" you report for the doit-matrix printer programming the printer with low-level escape sequences.

Also you can try reporting directly to the printer - in this case it will print really slow (and noisy on dot-matrix printer)
