Famous (and true) story:
3 doctors set up practice. They did not want to do Obstetrics but were required to offer it by local regs, so they priced it at more than twice the going rate. Pregnant women poured in. They increased the price by another 100%. Even more pregnant women poured in.
Lesson: if you charge heaps, people assess you as "quality" and seek you out. They also complain less.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
