Hi Tom,
Sorry for the delay but this was a long weekend .

What I mean with 'preload' is that the controlsource property of an object may be set at design time or by drag and drop action. Mark the object, go in the property window page "data" and check controlsource property. This should be empty for the way of you are doing.

If this will not solve the problem, you need to trace the change of controlsource. If you need some help on this, just send me a message.

I think I have experience similar steps because cursor set in Foxpro is tricky, doing stuff like that, i prefer to create my own cursor then echo the stuff into the elements. Also what do you mean by preloaded? you mean in the designer view, the control source for element is set to something or the formA which calls form B already cue the SQL into the fields? I look everywhere, there is nothing... :( poor me~~~ hahhaa
