Well I have a very dim memory of this item in FPA. Is the first field in the record a memo field? If so, can you rearrange the table and see if you get a different result?

Are you doing the SCATTER in one method and the GATHER in another, and if so are you sure that the SCATTERed memvars are still in scope when GATHER happens? I am guessing that they are far apart because you show BLANK, suggesting that memvars are later filled somehow.
