Hi,

I told the Data Base Administrator of one of my clients that I needed to delete all records of a given Oracle table (in VFP that would be a ZAP). I had two ways of doing that: thru a DELETE From or a TRUNCATE. I asked him to give me the privileges to perform TRUNCATEs in that Oracle table (it should be faster). He replied me that he couldn't do it because if he gave me that privilege, it would imply that:

(a) I could perform TRUNCATEs in any other table of that database and

(b) giving me the TRUNCATE privilege I would be able to DROP any other table in that database too.

Is it correct what he's saying?

TIA

Fernando
