I am working with views currently that can either access VFP tables or SQL tables. In one of my forms that is modeless and has a private datasession,(in the load and the init) i am calling a function in the application object and passing the current datasession id to that function (the function opens the view) and setting the datasession to the value passed so that i can open the view in that private datasession.

however i found that although the value is passed correctly to the application object function, when i try and do a "set datasession to " and check the value stored in datasession after, the value has not been altered to that of the private session. as a result my view does not open in the private datasession but instead in the default datasession.
