Thank you for your response and pointing out the help's mention of PROMPT and PREVIEW with the LABEL command. I obviously overlooked it.

Documentation notwithstanding, I actually got it to work with the following syntax:

label form "UsrLabl2.lbx" to printer prompt noconsole preview

(I am aware that this may suddenly break under different circumstances or in future versions.) My manager and the users, really, really, really like previewing reports and labels first and then deciding whether or not to print.

The similarity between REPORT and LABEL command usage suggests that, in at least a perfect world, what works in one should work in another. I suppose since I feel this is important I should formally make "wish list" request.
