Remember that we don't vote for parties, but for individuals. So someone who voted for Nader for president may well have voted for a Democrat or Republican for Congress.

I know that the Congressional district in which I live is unusual, because it had 2 or 3 consecutive close elections, and flipped parties a couple of times in the process. In fact, it annoyed both parties so much (because they had spent lots of $ here) that, in the redistricting that goes into effect for this year's elections, they chopped the district up. My township's been moved into a district that's mostly inside Philadelphia; I'll have a different Congressman, come the fall, and I'm fairly certain that there's no Republican challenging him for his seat.
