Hi Tom,

>Doug;
>
>It seems that lawyers like to “find” clients to represent cases like this. In this case a lawyer/doctor “is representing his own child” – himself! He may think he is looking out for his daughters best interest and as a parent/lawyer must protect her from gravis and irrefutable harm. That is the right of a parent and any parent would attempt to protect his/her child. In this case we have controversy – one parent against the other with the child as a pawn. An eight-year-old should not be a part of this.

Practicing for the opera... "Me me me me me me me!!"

>I just saw an ACLU attorney on television who was soliciting college students to allow the ACLU to represent a case against the government. He explained, “we need a college student who is willing to agree with our position”! I am sure there will be some one who will.

Right. The operative word is 'agenda'. Candidly, there really is no such thing as neutrality.

>
>As for this case at hand, if it is thrown out surely someone else will sue to abolish the use of the word God from our Pledge of Allegiance.

No doubt.

Here's the rub... Some folks wish to force their choice not to speak the words on others, plain and simple. That's been my objection all along. So don't say the words that offend you but please at least have the courtesy to not rob me of my desire TO say those words.

>Does anyone remember Kate Smith, the singer from South Carolina who introduced over 400 songs? One of her most famous songs was “God Bless America”, by Irving Berlin. For many years people argued that “God Bless America” should be our National Anthem. Kate Smith said no, because it was not written in time of war. If I am not mistaken it was written in 1918.
>
>I can imagine if “God Bless America” was our National Anthem, someone would sue to remove the word God from the lyric or abolish the song from this country. Then we would have to go to Canada to sing it!

>Hmmmm, hmmmm, America,

>Hmmmm, hmmmm, America, My home sweet home.

>My apologies to Irving Berlin.

>>I confess! I've been holding back. I've been waiting for this to hit the streets and here it is...
>>
>>For those of you who have the backbone to swallow a little truth today. <g>
>>
>>Here are a couple of links regarding the athiest who apparently thinks that lying is ok to advance his agenda.

>>Actually, what amazes me is that the case got this far. I'm sure everyone knew the real facts so this looks like an agenda-driven event to me.
Best,
