Browser-based apps historically at least, are expensive. The hype in not having to deploy software is overshadowed by the extra dev costs. I have seen lots of dollars burned on trying to make a browser behave like a win32 app. FWIW, .NET does Not solve this specific problem. I do believe .NET will ease the pain as far as software dist. is concerned. I see windows forms being a panacea of sorts with respect to software dist. I think the tide will turn toward more apps being written using windows forms.The broswer will then be used for the types of UI's it was meant for...
