Excuse me???? Ok.... I will entertain what you have to say next. I trust it wont be a waste of time...< s >...

>Here is my logic, please point out where I have reasoned improperly:

Never ask a question you don't know the answer to...

>Premise 1: The law states in the pledge that America is one nation under God

What law are you talking about? You know, not everything the congress resolves to recognize can be considered a law. If you violate the law, you can be subject to criminal punishment and possibly a civil suit as well. If you stated that your interpretation of the pledge was was sans (that means without..) God, there is NO law or statute you could be prosecuted under. Therefore, what you state as being 'law' is not law.

Having dispatched with your first premise, I really don't need to go further. But I believe if I am in for a dime, I am in for a dollar....

>Premise 2: God is "the principal object of faith and worship in monotheistic religions"
>

I'll concede premise 2.....

>We can chain the arguments together to conclude:
>The law states in the pledge that America is one nation under the principal object of faith and worship in monotheistic religions
>
>Have I erred so far?

You have erred by making the leap that somehow, the US Gov't has endorsed a specific religion. The guy who started all of this was on Buchannan and Press today. He tried to trot the "theism" is a religion argument. Theism itself is not a relgion. It merely recognizes the existence of a God. I know of folks who do not adopt a specific religion, but believe in God. An atheist does not believe in God. The Establishment Clause forbids the Fed. Gov't from making laws that either endorse or inhibit the practice/belief in a specific religion. Theism IS NOT a religion. The pledge is not backed up by a specific law.

Enough already...If you logic held water, don't you think it would make for slam-dunk argument making this a moot point?????

It is sad to see somebody think beyond their means...< s >.. And FWIW, this issue has more to do with common sense than education. People considerably more educated than you don't get it either. Again, if you are going to continue to take those snotty little pot shots, I will respond in kind...
