>I'm initiating development of an app. The company the app is for, decided that VFP file management is not good enough, so they want to use some "good" database management system such as Oracle or SQL server. Then the app should be developed using visual Basic instead of Vfp. Can I use SQL server or Oracle to store all the data and use VFP as development tool? What are the advantages/disadvantages of such thing? How easy is it to do?
>Thanks in advance!
Yes you can ! I think you'll be glad that you used VFP. At least I can say you can and it is easy, VFP is powerfull on doing it (better than VB). Read the articles in KB and contact to other UT people that are highly experienced in this such as Barbara Paltiel, Jim Booth, Vladimir Shevchenko, Edward Pikmann and many others. I think most of them are on a vacation now.
