>While its true that the numbers are down from 1993, remember that there has been a huge change in Fox too. Back in 1993, people were flocking to see what MS was doing with the product. What was this "VFP" stuff? Many people using Fox back then were end users, not developers. Granted, not many end users went to DevCons, but also MANY people who were big developers with Fox 2.x did not make the switch to VFP because they couldn't grasp it.

There was 2500+ in 1995 and over a 1000 in 1996. The numbers have been going down.

I have to agree with Steve here. In the last month I have gotten at least 12 new people asking to be added to my user group mail list. Also, attendance at my group is up from a year ago.

But is it up or down from levels of 5-8 years ago? How about the aggregate numbers of groups. The philly group had 200 people on the list. Today, that group has been defunct for at least 5 years now...

Sorry, but Steve is imagining these "upward" or "steady" trends as far as conferences and user groups are concerned.

Lets see what happens in the next 18-24 months...shall we...
