As far as I know, you can't. FoxPro stores a pointer to the memo field data in a 10 character field in the DBF and manages the memo data in the FPT file itself. It sounds like you may have some corruption. Try saving both the DBF and FPT (as well as the CDX if there is one) and then issuing PACK MEMO.
