This is usually caused by stored files on the desktop and also not deleting temporary internet files routinely.

I would move all files from the desktop and also delete all offline content in Internet Explorer and physically clean the directories and see where it is then.

A bloated roaming profile can be a real problem (not just because of the hard disk space it uses) because the file is transferred to/from the server everytime the user logs in/out and it can easily get corrupted.

Update: You don't use 'Groove' right? That is a known problem with 'Groove.'
