Since support is better here than on Crystal's site, I figure I'd post my problem here.

The problem is in printing multiple copies of labels to barcode label printers (Zebra in this case). When printing from Crystal, if you say to print say 50 copies, and leave the collate option checked, you get 50 print jobs, not one job 50 times. If you uncheck collate, you get one job 50 times, but it's still printing each one individually - label printers like the Zebra have a display that gives printing status, so if you tell it to print multiple copies it says on the display "Printing x of y", except of course when printing from Crystal - then it repeats "Printing 1 of 1" over and over until all 50 print. This cause a problem when doing print and apply because you can't pause or cancel the job. On the exact same computer using the exact same driver, printing from Word or Wordpad does NOT have this problem, it's definitely a Crystal problem. I searched Crystal's site and found several references - one says they are aware of this issue from v 7.0 on and are 'tracking' it - over TWO YEARS! Posts on their support forums go back even longer, but no recent activity. I'm using 8.0 right now, but I'd upgrade to 8.5 if it definitely fixes the problem. None of the documentation I can find mentions any fix to this. Perhaps there is some sort of workaround? Printing the report as a PDF and then sending it to the printer is probably out, because of the tightly controlled tolerances on barcodes.
