But, as someone said, a function library can take the place of static methods. Of course, static methods in which all instances of a class share the same property value is a bit different. I know PowerBuilder has a variable with that type of scope... I just don't remember it's uses at this time. After working with VFP for so long I guess I got used to working without it, perhaps by having an app object to store info that more than one class needed access to.
