>> Sorry to say this, but there are two guys here in UT who behaves like Tom and Jerry. The only difference is that the latters are real animals. In any topics and situation, they always have differences and it seems they will never come into reconciliation... in any form. Well, let's see if there will be Tom and Jerry Jrs.

Very funny, Jess. Tell me, in the Phillipines, how do you deal with unethical professional behavior? In the Phillipines, if one medical doctor exposes another doctor for fraud or malpractice, would you call that Tom and Gerry?

What are your stakes, Jess? Are you just playing around with FoxPro? Are you supporting your family with VFP? Do you work with collegues? Are you involved with, or do you know know people with multi-million dollar technology initiatives? Where on the scale of stakes do Tom and Gerry analogies end, and avoiding expensive mistakes begin to make sense?

More to the immediate point, how should we deal with liars? Should technical, historical, and causal distortions go unchallenged? Should we just accept that people will log-in as different invented personnas, fabricate "facts" and present them as "evidence", and tiresomely spout unsubstantiated takes forever?

What if moreover this person is a Microsoft Visual FoxPro MVP? (!) What if this person is an author, a past conference speaker, and a trainer? Have you any idea how much damage can be done by a person like this? How do you say "injurious reliance" in your native language?

What's the right thing to do in this case?

In my view, the right thing is to is to challenge, and to do what I can to make people aware and beware that it's possible for someone to somehow be educated and decorated and still be serially unethical, unprofessional, and in my view, mostly wrong.

Should individual average Universal Thread citizens be expected to take on this guy, and if so, how can any particular individual be expected to do this? Do people with similar credentials not have a responsibility to step-up? If not me and a few others, then whom?

When others step up and slap him around, I'm glad to just watch for a while <s>. When they don't, then I'm moved to highlight the fabrications, the innuendo, and the general soggy thinking that may otherwise pass as wisdom.
