Hi Maria,
I never worked with UNIX. Below is email I got from my son who knows something about Linux/Unix
"Run sysadmsh, select System->Configure->Kernel->Parameters
The items that need to be modified:
NOFILES is the maximum number of files that can be open by each process at any time.
NFILE is the maximum number of files that can be open system wide at any time.
Another relevant option might be NINODE, which is the maximum number of inodes that can be open at any time.
