Actually, yes I did know one, and we [my wife and I] helped get her out of the relationship. None of us knew of his proclivities until after they got married.

I have not had the time or energy to follow all those recent threads to comment either way. I even filtered one out because of the bad S/N ratio. The only reason I looked at this thread [and replied with some apprehension] was because of the somewhat humorous thread title. None of this is even a blip on my radar screen when compared to the problems most of us face every day.

I, and IMO anyone else, should not take much seriousness in any discussion between the two of you because I think the animosity clouds anything of relevance to the community. I am not sure at this point I could trust anything either of you have to say about/to the other, and I am not so sure that is a bad thing.

Honestly, I have met John on several occassions and find him quite personable. I have even defended him on occassion when others resorted to debating his points based on his tone instead of content. Ed Rauh is another who comes to mind when it comes to delivery. AFAIAC, people should debate the content and not the style. I could give a crap about tone in a soundless media. Too many people have gotten bent out shape because someone forgot a smiley-face.

I have also enjoyed dinners and a few events with Ed. I am sure if I had the same face-to-face meetings with you, I would feel the same way about you. I am like Roy Rogers in that I have never [OK, rarely] met someone I did not like, but I am very careful about the places I go to meet people. One of the few people I did not like upon meeting was the American wife of an Iraqi immigrant about 16 years ago. I was right because she turned out to be a head-case, and he has since become an American citizen, a respected doctor and still a good family friend. Hell, my dogs did not even like her. They left the room anytime she came over. Maybe, I should pay more attention to them. :)
