Usually drivers for Windows 2000/XP must be signed. This means that they are certified by Microsoft and meet the minimum compatibility requirements. I really cannot answer your question because it depends on manufacturer of the printer. However, I do know that the Lexmark Z52 printer drivers for Windows 2000/XP are signed.
