However, the problem still exists. Another twist is the fact we are using predefined local views in the Data Environment on these forms, with NoDataOnLoad set to False. But some of the forms using this class and views don't have the TALK problem; it's rather inconsistent as to which actual forms have the problem. All the views are updateable, but I don't see why that would make a difference.

If you're using DE than you should put your SET commands int the DE's BeforeOpenTables method.
