>I used to live in Portland, Sutherlin, and Rogue River, OR. All three were beautiful. Of course this was almost 25 years ago, but it was not expensive at the time compared to other areas of the country. The majority of the residents were from Calif, but everyone had a negative attitude about Californians moving to Oregon and taking over the state :o) Has the cost of living gone through the roof there also? It's not too far from SF, but the rest of Calif, yes.

We are looking at Oregon as a place to retire. Last year we were in The Dalles. Pendleton, and Condon. The entire eastern part of Oregon has had a draught for the last four years. The economy is very bad to say the least.

We will be up that way in August for an Air Force reunion at Condon, Oregon. Then I will go over to Ukiah, Oregon to see where my father grew up, take pictures, etc. My manager and his wife just retired and bought a bed and breakfast in La Grande.

Last year we met many people from California living in Oregon. I am not truely sure about peoples attitudes - they told me "they did not mind living with Californians", but...
