I am sure that can work. Basically you would create a Locking table. The only information you would need would be the table name, and the primary key expression.

However, I doubt this would be necessary, at least in most cases. With optimistic buffering, the system would NOT overwrite changes done by another user - you would only run the (slight) risk of a user having to discard changes to one record.
