Yeah like the company I did some work for, that had decided to move from Novell Groupware to Lotus Notes. Their head of IT, felt like anything could be done with Notes, and objected to the system that I was working on, that had taken me about 3 man years to develop in VFP. and was fully working. Since FoxPro was not a company standard he wanted it rewriten in Notes, and figured it should take a couple of months. This was a system [sort of data mining and detective work] that did pattern recognition on data, had tables with several hundreds of thousands of records, some of which got totaly changed every day - in Notes - right!

Luckily the department head I was working for had enough powere to tell him to get lost. This was the same company that when I orginally designed the system wanted it programmed in Smalltalk in with OS/2 as the standard.

Funny how FoxPro has never been the companies standard, yet over an eight year period, it's the only thing in the Company that has not changed.I developed the system in Dos/Foxpro, then Foxpro/Windows then VFP.

The've gone through Windows, OS2, Windows95, Windows98, Windows NT, Novell, AS400, Smalltalk -- all of which have now gone -- and the new company standard for reliablilty is Windows XP
