There is a level of knowledge that beyond which is considered to be expert level. Is it top 1%, 10%, 15% or whatever? I don't know. I do know that there are groups of people that know more about .NET than anybody else and for the time being, they are the experts. Will that same level of knowledge be expert level in a year? Maybe, maybe not.

Spend less time trying to follow in the footsteps of others and gleaning knowledge from web snippets and more time think for yourself. And I will say this again, education would do you a world of good.
