>>>I'm modifying an application I inherited from another programmer. I've made changes to a few of the tables in the project manager. When I look at the tables I can see the fields and indexes I've added. However, if I try to create a local view or query containing the new fields they don't appear. Has anyone encountered this?

>>You say these tables are included in the project manager? You may need to recreate a .APP or .EXE because the tables will be read only in them and contain the previous structure versions. If you use the Query designer and add those tables, do you still not see the new fields? What happens if you open the database, then modify database to modify the structures and add indexes to the tables?

>Thanks -- I had previously rebuilt both the project and the app, but recompiling the exe fixed the problem (although I'm not sure why). Before I rebuilt the exe I could see the fields and indexes in the database designer and in the project, but if I attempted to create either a local view or a query I couldn't see them.

If you do not need the tables to be read-only, remove them from the project manager, and rebuild/compile everything. Otherwise, whenever you make a change to the tables, you will need to rebuild/compile.
