>Even if I am not a paying member (yet), I feel like I have been a part of a community. I have gotten help and I have given help I have downloaded and I have taken a honest interest in the "FoxPro community". I am sad to inform you that I basically sold out for terd administrative decisions for my future. I have accepted the job title of "Maximo System Admin" I was only getting paid 24k and they offered me 39k to do the job when I and my boss/partner have custom software that we created on our own no framework from scratch (a few things I got from here with consent) for the exact same job and they won't use it because my bosses boss asked for the source code and told us he always got the source code with every piece of software (which we pointed out that it is a lie) and we wouldn't give it to him without the MVA "the state" signing off that this wouldn't be free for the rest of the state to copy and use. Also I would sign over my life for lifetime support (not upgrades) and they could use the system for free.

So your boss wouldn't use your software without the source code, but went with Maximo, a propriatary product that doesn't supply the source code. Have no doubts about it... he wanted to steal your code and market it himself.
I had a similar thing happen to me and my Cattle Feedlot Program. I ended up competeing against my own software when one of my Feedlot clients started selling a copy of my CFP to other Feedlots. He had the source, but he didn't have the brains nor the documentation. He didn't understand the math behind the net energy gain calculations so he couldn't customize the software to specific feedlot needs. Once his 'customers' saw through the situation they dropped the interloper and called me. (He couldn't remove my name & number from the logon display!).

>needless to say they didn't like anyone filled with piss and vinegar, and now I am stuck being the Maximo guy because I am desperate for the money and they would love for me to save there butts and make them look good again by making Maximo do the impossible and work as seamless as my visual program, which any Maximo user / semi advanced FoxPro programmer would say is like turning dung into gold

If "20X" more companies have dropped it than have been successful with it (their website give 63,000 active users at 5,300 sites, and their promo literature sites 'awards' that are 4 to 6 years old) how do you rate your chances at making it behave? If you can't what action do you think they will take?

Also, while you are busy trying to make Maximo work, watch out for a legal attack on your ownership of the software you wrote. Have you taken the source to a notary and it signed and dated? Have you filed a copyright registration?
Can you prove you wrote it on your own time and at your own residence?
