Contracts, agreements and general business
As an individual contractor in Canada, it's almost imposible to get general liability. Insurance companies either don't want to touch you or charge so much ($5,000 for 3 months coverage) that it not affortable. What I've done is have the company agree to cover me under their insurance as if I'm an employee of the firm. My liability is the same as someone working for the firm. This approach has worked for 11 years and has been tested in court once (US Military project - operator error caused a 5 axis grinding machine to catch on fire. They tried to blame it on the software - the software had worked exactly to their specifications.)
