I have developed an application that may be of interest to those of you who use VFP (or VB6 or .NET) with SQL Server 2000. This is a Data Dictionary app that takes advantage of SQL Server 2000's extended properties - the app creates extended properties on table and field objects and gives the user the ability to to define the following extended properties:

Tables:

1. Description (purpose of the table)
2. Business Rules

Fields:

1. Caption
2. Description (purpose of field)
3. Business Rules

The app also displays all constraints for table and field objects (Primary and Foreign keys, etc.) and is able to export Data Dictionary report information to Word, Excel, PDF and HTML File formats.

I built this app simply because I wanted to have a utility that would give me the ability to define a Data Dictionary with my SQL Server 2000 apps - also to become more proficient with both SQL Server and Visual Basic. This is a compiled VB6 app that I would be more than happy to share with those of you who use SQL Server 2000 in your development as thanks for all the assistance I have received in this forum over the last number of years.

The app is 98% complete - my plans are "tighten it up" a bit over the next week or so before making it available. If you are interested in finding out more, feel free to drop me a line.
