As one who is undertaking the "joys" of moving to a new platform, I hope you will agree that real advantage comes from people who publish VFP dotNET libraries to ease the transfer, from people who give Java and dotNET classes for VFP'ers, from people like Rick Strahl who struggle with immature technology and provide frank, unemotive facts that we can rely on.

MS itself provides (by its own admission) more than enough hype for dotNET, we do not need inexperienced people coming here and filling the boards with sensational sophist amplification of the hype. IMHO that is completely counterproductive and I cannot understand why anybody would do it.

As for boxing below the belt, yes, I think we have learned quite a lot about people and their standards of behaviour in this exchange.

"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
