Using VFP7 SP1

I just recorded a macro of about 50 keysrokes. I went to the macro window and chose edit macro. I highlighted all the keystokes in the macro editor and pasted them to a text file. I then blew away the macro. Now I want the macro back, so I copy/pasted the contents of the text file into a new macro. It doesn't work. What did I loose in this situation? Can you not build a macro in a text file and then paste it into the macro editor?
