Two aproaches:
1. Set a small caption and a Tooltip
2. Have you seen the Compile icon from Visual C++? it seems good for that pourpose. Maybe the Icon than comes in Word to create Formulas? the f(x) or Sum icons that comes with Excel?, The modules icon that comes with VisualBasic?
