>>>In the long run, it sounds like you guys made a good (and right) move. Could you have found Fox work?<

>That's a good question. Even back when I was still an independent consultant (two years ago), Fox work was very scarce in the SF Bay Area. One reason I moved up here (of course, there *were* other reasons <g>) ... But here? in the middle of Nowhere, WA? ... hell no!! I bet it'd be hard to find Fox work even over on the other side of the mountains in Seattle.

This gets to the heart of what I have been saying for quite some time; that Fox work is getting more and more scarce. I think the more people see Fox developers going to .NET, the less trepidation there will be.
I believe that today, .NET is a good product. I also believe that the more Fox developers that adopt the product, the sooner it can become a great product.
>Not to knock VFP at all (I *still* love it), but I'm glad to be messing around with .NET. The learning process is fun (plus, learning new stuff keeps the ol' mind sharp ... a good thing as I get, ahem, older <g>)

The sad thing is that if one speaks reality, it is taken as knocking Fox. Fox is a great product. Nonetheless, its best days are behind (far behind) it. Technically good (not that I did not say technically better) and broad business acceptance do not necessarily go hand in hand.

Thanks...
