From what I have read on the SYS(0) command, it is a network ID. I think it is just what I'm looking for.

True, someone could probably do what you are thinking. However, the people that work in this small company (18 in number) don't know enough to figure it out. They are salesmen and office workers that would be afraid to unplug a PC in fear that it would not work right after they plugged it back in. As far as I know, they don't know how to change a computer's name. They ask me to show them how to do the simplest of tasks.
