Yes you are right. MS do not make revenue from VFP, because it is RAD tools and a few buyers (mainly professional developers) buy it. But after creating of stable, well done IS it lead to additional sales of WinOS, Office, other MS or Win Based (like GIS, Video,...)products. In reality we develop other markets. Without IS done with strong database tools there are not WinSvr and SQLSvr sales. If the same project is done with DB2 or Oracle and UnixSvr, what will cumber them to put on their desktops Linux and StarOffice.
Loss will come later.
Does not supporting developer market especially database one, which is backbone of every IS MS will strike lost market share in all other products.
