The old behaviour of Win systems included a "feature" that I made use of. Specifically, the Windows Explorer window, when left open at shutdown, would automatically start up again and with the selected folder being the last one that was selected at shutdown.

This doesn't happen any more, but my suspicion is that there is some setting somewhere that can be used to replicate the old behaviour.

I rarely use the Start button or the desktop, working principally from the Windows Explorer to get my work done. I just find it quicker and it help an old mind keep track of where things really are.

So can somebody advise the way to get the old behaviour back? This Start button or desktop icon stuff is far too troublesome.

Thanks
