Yes, I know. However, at least foundation homes can get insurance. There are very few carriers that are even willing to take the risk and offer homeowners insurance for mobile homes east of I95 now though and when they do, it is cost-prohibitive. The option is almost gone. A lot of families east of I95 no longer have homeowners insurance on their mobile homes for this reason which the government has to bail them out again in the next hurricane.

>>Try getting homeowners insurance on a mobile home east of I95 in NC or SC! Since the hurricanes' floods, it almost can't be done. No one even wants the risk.

>The cost of insurance for non-mobile homes has increases too east of I95, for the same reason. The same is true for houses in 100 year flood zones.

>>>Speaking of car insurance - add the price you pay based upon location. It is interesting to note the car insurance (the same policy and company) costs about twice as much in Los Angeles as it does in the San Francisco Bay Area. That really got my attention! That was true 8 years ago and is true today as I checked with AAA and State Farm on both occasions.
