Sure it's helpful, John, but that doesn't get me back to where I left it. In fact it leaves me in the decidedly useless "My Computer" ("Documents and Settings" starting it from rt-click of Start button, as useless).

The old way left it where it last was, both directory-wise and placement-wise (on desktop). This puts it in the same place only.

Little things, yes. Helpful... not!

PS I have found how to get the thingy beside the Start button that lets one-click startups be done for applications. It turns out to be called the "Quick Launch" and by rt-clicking on the Start BAR, then "Properties" a dialogue pops up with a "Taskbar" page having a checkbox for 'Show Quick Launch'.
