It is part of the reason. Even if Fox was a database that beginners could use, I doubt I would have made that the focal point. It is more of a business decision than a technical one. Could I have written the book using Fox? Yes, but Que would have not gone ahead with the deal.... Access is more widely used and accepted and as a result, I had to target the bigger market.

For people just entering the marketplace, Access is the best, most accessible tool to learn. From that point on, the next logical step is some flavor of SQL Server.
