Snipped the whole shooting match!

VFP7 was my guess. I have a "sandbox" project in VFP6 where i keep 10-12 test forms for various serial configs and performance testing. On a lark early this AM, I fired up my factory fresh VFP7 and grabbed a sample matching your config. IT WOULD NOT WORK. Popped back into VFP6 and it worked dandy. Hmmmmmm...... Let's try another...... I gave up after 5. NONE OF THEM WORK IN VFP7. I am of no further use to you until I figure this one out. "No problem, just don't edit the menus or enable database events" my a**.
