>thanks Tom, this is good advice. How about if I follow your advice and start out by asking you which framework you use/would buy?

Howie;

I use several.

1. CodeBook
2. Visual Fox Express
3. MEI
4. Visual Maxframe Professional

There are many others and each one has features you may or may like. Do a search on frameworks or try going to the Wiki to get some concepts. This question comes up about once a week or two.

You have to look at how you like to work and what direction you wish to take. I have the feeling you can take any commercial VFP framework and make it do the job required. However, some will work better for you for specific reasons which boil down to how you like to work and what requirements you have.

To be honest I like Visual Fox Express when I am working with other developers and Visual Maxframe Professional when I work alone. But that is just me! :)

If you ask 10 developers you will get ten different answers - maybe more.

Tom
